UpStream starts from the belief that the way something arrives should not determine whether it is worth capturing.

UpStream is not meant to grade the quality of an entry or force a person into a perfect structure before they can begin.
The first job is to give the thought somewhere safe to go.

UpStream is being designed so previous context can be returned to, revisited, and understood differently when more information or perspective becomes available.
Context over time
Individual moments can begin to make more sense together.
A thought captured today may connect with an observation from another day, a question you want to revisit, or something that becomes clearer later.
The goal is not to tell you what your life means. It is to help preserve enough context for you to keep working that out.
Ground
When everything feels like too much, narrow the moment.
UpStream includes grounding experiences intended to reduce the number of things asking for attention at once and provide a simpler place to begin.

The direction
